Marlyn Fuego | Portraits at The Rhode Island Desert

Marlyn Fuego and I ventured into the Rhode Island Desert, where the stark, ethereal landscape provided a breathtaking backdrop for our regal portrait session. Dressed in a striking red suit, Marlyn embodied the essence of an African king, adorned with earthy jewelry that highlighted his heritage. The vibrant tones of his outfit contrasted beautifully against the desert hues, creating a visual feast that speaks to strength and elegance. Longtime collaborator Ashley Vancol styled the shoot with an eye for detail, ensuring each element complemented the narrative we aimed to capture. Together, we sought to tell a powerful story through these artistic portraits, celebrating culture and identity in a setting as majestic as the subject himself.

“I ain't in no gang, but I got shooters and I bang-bang / They still love your flame, ain't no game or I'll pierce your heart / I ain't in no gang, but I got shooters and I bang-bang.”
